You know what's funny?
Neither do we.
The truth of the matter is that we're just refreshing this front page to let you know
that we're still breathing, albeit barely, and that things are happening, albeit slowly,
and that we enjoy using the word albeit, and want you to start using it, too, all the
time, everywhere. Sprinkle it into conversations (pronounced all-be-it) instead of using
plain old 'although' or even 'notwithstanding.' Make sure you emphasize it, too, so that
people's brows will furrow and their eyes glaze and their jaws tighten when this perfectly
acceptable but mostly ignored English word suddenly starts springing up all over the place
for seemingly no reason.
If you haven't already heard, we're so overloaded with work (at least that's the excuse
we use around here to avoid lay-offs and the like) that we're shutting down long-time
on-line art museum Soulflare. Frequent visitors
will remember that Soulflare started out as a section here at glassdog.com and we may be
bringing all the work back under our umbrella here, but the URL will be dead come August
1. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and will remember it fondly and with Oreos.
storyFUCK continues apace, and we're gearing up
for next month's adventures in fiction. If you'd like to be a guest author, feel free to apply and maybe you'll experience the pain and
frustration that our opponents face every other day. Or so.
Your next question is likely going to be, "But what has Lance been up to, for
crying out loud? He doesn't have to update Life Serial or LanceLog anymore, he must have
nothing whatsoever to do!"
All true. However, we can report that rather than updating things here (other than that
bastion of the high ground, unHip) he's managed to crank out an
article over at Michael Sippey's Stating The Obvious
regarding this week's Webby Awards, and he granted yet another meandering interview to
John Rhodes over at WebWord, the
Usability Weblog, in which he spews the following piece of convoluted crap:
"Design is about taking a set of criteria concerning an operation or need and
refining the set of rules and materials and expectations concerning that thing and coming
up with your own solution that answers the need or performs the operation."
If you can decipher that, more power to you.
Business as usual, albeit slowly.

Cindy Margolis? You know? The Internet's "most downloaded woman" who has (had?)
her own TV show where she and her breasts paraded around showing she and her breasts being
breasty? We are so done with that, it's time for her reign to end. And who better to
reflect Today's Net than  Nora Batty?
